PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: New Home Food Pantry Serves Seniors with Dignity
New Home Help Seniors Facing Impossible Choices
Our partners at New Home and Durham Food Pantry have grown exponentially to help meet the need in their community.Ā
Last year, New Home served over 31,000 neighbors seeking food assistance, primarily seniors living on fixed incomes. Many have to decide between paying for medicine or a light bill. Ā
Reverend Henry A. King Sr. is the Pantry Director alongside his wife Beatrice, who supportĀ seniors with healthy, nutritious food. They're intentional in providing shelf-stable items with low sodium for seniors with dietary restrictions. In 2025, New Home distributed over 246,000 meals with the support of the Food Bank, including bi-monthly service to six retirement centers. Ā
In the midst of federal cuts and rising costs, New Home continues to serve seniors with dignity.
