The damaging flood waters Hurricane Matthew brought have long since receded, yet so many families in our service area are trying to get back to some type of normalcy. Too many are still living out of hotels. Too many have lost their jobs. And too many do not have enough to eat.

The Food Bank immediately saw the impact this was having on the youngest, and thanks to your generosity, we were able to to distribute a week’s worth of food to every Princeville Elementary child and their family.

Princeville Elementary’s motto is “The Power of One” – which is fitting because you made this possible. Your gift showed students and their families that someone in their community cares.

Thanks to the support of our amazing community, the Food Bank was able to act with urgency after Hurricane Matthew, ultimately distributing 3 million pounds of food and hygiene items to 28 of our 34 counties. Those are big numbers, but at their heart is a community rallying around our friends and neighbors in need – one gift at a time.

Thank you for taking a moment to watch this heartwarming video from the Princeville Elementary food distribution. On behalf of those we serve, thanks for all you do.
