Our Statement on USDA Elimination of Vital Hunger Data
We are excited to welcome David Garris as the new Chair of the Food Bank Board of Directors!
Our fleet of 22 trucks are essential to transport food to our more than 700 partner agencies across central and eastern North Carolina.
Over the past year our partners played a key role in:
🍽️ Distributing enough food to fuel more than 86 million meals
🍽️ Distributing enough food to fuel more than 86 million meals
When diesel prices topped $6.00 a gallon earlier this year, every gallon we put into our trucks represented 18 meals we couldn’t provide to a neighbor. It’s a hard truth to think about while standing at the pump.
Your giving helps fill the meal gap, so our truck drivers can deliver nutritious food this holiday season.
Take Action to Support Local Hunger Relief Efforts
The new 'Food Lion FEEDS' Hunger Solution Center supports communities across Durham, Chatham, Granville, Orange, Person, and Vance counties. If you’re in a position to help, there are concrete ways to make a difference right now!
During our #StopSummerHunger campaign, all donations matched through July 31. That means very dollar fuels 6 meals!
In the average volunteer shift, a single person will sort and pack enough food to fuel more than 160 meals for local families.
Advocate for investments in local farms and families. No one in our community should go hungry — and state and federal leaders must act.
