Help Keep Our Trucks On The Road By Supporting The Food Bank
We celebrate our amazing fleet of drivers, dispatchers, and transportation staff for delivering nutritious food to local families.
Our drivers are an essential part of our operation here at the Food Bank. They help restock pantry shelves by delivering food to all of our partner agencies that host food distributions, meal sites, and more. Each year, our drivers travel over 560,000 miles to ensure no one goes hungry.
We are so thankful to Manny and our dedicated transportation team. Manny's determination and strict schedule help partner agencies have the food they need to nourish the community. He's been a member of the Food Bank team for over 16 years. Manny's love for the community brings hope to the families he serves.Ā
Our fleet of 22 trucks are essential to transport food to our more than 700 partner agencies across central and eastern North Carolina.
Fuel Costs are Higher Than Ever
That's almost 50% more than last year ā and could be double year-over-year if the trend remains.
Every $6+ gallon we put into our trucks represents 18 meals we couldnāt provide to a neighbor.
When diesel prices topped $6.00 a gallon earlier this year, every gallon we put into our trucks represented 18 Ā meals we couldnāt provide to a neighbor. Itās a hard truth to think about while standing at the pump.

In the average volunteer shift, a single person will sort and pack enough food to fuel more than 160 meals for local families.
No one in our community should go hungry ā and we need state and federal leaders to invest in local farms and families.
