Individual Giving

Right now, one in seven people in central and eastern North Carolina don’t have enough to eat. Your tax-deductible gift helps provide food and hope to families, children, and seniors right here in our community. Together, we can help people in our community during their greatest time of need. Every $10 you donate provides 30 meals!

Corporate & Community Giving

Support from businesses, foundations, and community-based organizations is vital to our vision for a future where no one goes hungry. Your investment can be designated to the focus area of your choice and may entitle your organization to recognition opportunities, unique volunteer experiences, and other special benefits.

Help Sustain Our Work

By setting up an automatic monthly gift, you’ll sustain the Food Bank as a trusted resource for neighbors who need it most.

Donate Food

The Food Bank gladly accepts donations of food, large and small, to distribute into the community through our network of partner agencies.

Food Drives & Individuals

We welcome community donations of factory-sealed non-perishable products and beverages, refrigerated or frozen items and produce, and non-food essentials such as hygiene items, cleaning items, or paper products. Learn everything you need to know (including locations, business hours, and most needed items) to host a food drive or donate individually.

Food Industry Donations

Thanks to longtime agriculture and food industry paratnerships, we're able provide a variety of nutritious, high-demand items to local families year-round. Our facilities are equipped to receive and process donations at any scale. And we work with hundreds of growers, producers, manufacturers, retailers, and more to support families facing hunger and reduce food waste along the way. If you're in the food industry and have surplus or "unsellable" product on hand, we want to hear from you!

Amplify Your Impact as a Community

Working with our incredible partners at PORCH Communities, neighbors can come together for a monthly collection of nonperishable goods that support nearby pantries and no-cost markets. It's as easy as choosing a date for your neighborhood to set out donations for collection!

Host a Virtual Food Drive

Want to make an immediate difference? Online drives with friends and colleagues help us purchase the exact products local pantries and meal sites need. Every $1 raised provides 3 meals for families in our area!

Donate Time

Did you know that a single person will sort and pack enough food in a volunteer shift to fuel more than 160 meals for local families? That it only takes two minutes to reach your elected officials? It's easier than ever to have an impact through your time and talent.

Volunteer with the Food Bank Network

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our work at the Food Bank. Whether you’re an individual supporter or represent a large group, there are a host of opportunities to help bring us closer to a future where no one goes hungry — no matter where we live, where we’re from, or the color of our skin.

Join Our Young Professionals Council

The Council brings together community members age 21-40 to raise awareness of rising hunger in our region — and efforts to meet these challenges head-on. Join a community that makes a difference and grows together!

Advocate for A Hunger-free Future

Alongside efforts to meet the rising demand for food assistance, we work to connect communities to build long-term solutions to hunger. Our non-partisan advocacy efforts push for public policies and investments that help us move closer to a future where no one goes hungry.

Below are just a few of the many ways to get involved and make a difference in our community.

Give by Donor Advised Fund

Give through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) to make a difference in the lives of neighbors in central and eastern North Carolina. Your DAF serves as an investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations like the Food Bank and our network of local partners.

Giving via DAF is easier than ever with our secure tool that links to your fund and allows you to recommend how your gift should be used. It only takes a few clicks to grant from your DAF, notify us of your intentions, and save a lot of time along the way! This is a great way to ensure consistent financial support while saving cash for immediate needs.

Qualified Charitable Distributions through IRAs

If you are age 70.5 or older, giving from your IRA can make a big difference in the fight to end hunger while helping to reduce your taxable income! For those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift is a simple way to fulfill it. Our secure online toolkit makes it easy to give from your IRA and auto-complete your paperwork — and the Food Bank can track your gift to send you the proper tax receipts.

Give Stock, Securities, or Mutual Funds

Donating stock or other assets can make a major difference in a short period of time — alongside capital gains tax benefits and full-value charitable deductions. Use our secure online tool to donate stock so we can track your gift, send you the correct receipt, and ensure you can get the tax savings you deserve. If you would prefer to make your donation through your broker, this link also includes transfer information and the opportunity to notify us of your gift.

Workplace Giving

Maximize the impact of your donation with your company's matching gift program. See if your employer will match your donation and unleash the power of your generosity today.

Give Back While You Shop

With the RoundUp app, you can make a difference with many of your everyday online purchases — just like rounding up at the grocery store.
