Check Out Hunger with CBS17 and Wegmans

For more than three decades, Wegmans has partnered with local food banks to 'Check Out Hunger'

Right now, more than 1.7 million people across North Carolina don't know where their next meal might come from — a challenge that truly hits home as many families gather for the winter holidays.

That's where Wegmans Check Out Hunger campaign comes in. Kicking off October 21, communities throughout the region will come together to donate meals to help ensure no one in our community goes hungry. Donations are collected at Wegman's locations across North Carolina through Saturday, November 28.

Make a difference online or at Wegmans locations in Cary, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Wake Forest:

• Scan the donation code while you shop to give $2, $3, or $5
• Round up or select a custom donation at the register
• Donate online to have your gift matched

“Year after year, our customers and employees demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to helping neighbors in need. Their generosity through our Check Out Hunger campaign has helped raise millions of dollars for our local food banks, and every contribution helps ensure more individuals and families have access to the food they need.”

– Deana Percassi Wegmans Vice President of Community Engagement

The need for support has never been greater — and every $10 donation provides 30 meals!
