PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: New Home Food Pantry Serves Seniors With Dignity
New Home Help Seniors Facing Impossible Choices
Our partners at New Home and Durham Food Pantry have grown exponentially to help meet the need in their community. Last year, they served over 31,000 neighbors seeking food assistance. Their food pantry often helps seniors who are on a fixed income. Many have to decide between paying for medicine or a light bill.
Reverend Henry A. King Sr. is the Pantry Director who supports seniors with healthy, nutritious food. He is intentional in providing shelf-stable items with low sodium for seniors with dietary restrictions. In 2025, New Home distributed over 246,000 meals with the support of the Food Bank. New Home serves six retirement centers by providing food twice a month.
In the midst of federal cuts and rising costs, Reverend King continues to serve seniors with dignity.
