Welcoming New Board Members: John Oxford & Sonny Goyal!

We are excited to welcome L&M CEO John Oxford and CuraCor Solutions Senior Vice-President Sonny Goyal to the Food Bank Board of Directors!

We're building hunger solutions through the expertise of our new board members, who bring extensive experience in farming operations and healthcare systems.

As CEO of L&M Companies, John Oxford leads a global produce supplier that operates farms across the country.Ā

For over two decades, John has trained leaders who form the foundation of L&M Companies. John is a long-time Food Bank volunteer who will support our work across the food system to source, sort, package, and distribute healthy food throughout the region.

ā€œAt L&M Companies, we believe in doing things the right way — from the farm to the board room. Joining the Food Bank's Board of Directors is an incredible opportunity to nourish our neighbors through criticalĀ partnerships with farmers across North Carolina"Ā

Sonny Goyal is transforming healthcare delivery systems as the Senior Vice-President of CuraCor Solutions.Ā

As a not-for-profit health care solutions company, CuraCor Solutions brings together a growing family of companies, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, to build a more connected, consumer-centered health care system. Sonny collaborates with health care partners to improve access to affordable services and oversees several businesses — among them FastMed, the largest urgent care practice in North Carolina. His leadership will help expand food access and support the health and well-being of our neighbors.Ā

ā€œFood is foundational to health, and every community deserves solutions that reflect their specific needs. That’s why I’m proud to join a team with a decades-long legacy of listening, learning, and improving the health of families throughout the region.ā€

– Sonny Goyal Senior Vice-President of CuraCor Solutions

Our incoming board members will help bring our work to new heights as we launch our 2030 strategic plan, Rooted In Community.Ā

Together, we are strengthening community partnerships and increasing access to nutritious food — all while ramping up efforts to prevent hunger from happening in the first place. We have full confidence that our board's leadership will help ensure continued success for the Food Bank as we advance our vision of a future where no one goes hungry.Ā

Community partnership — and leadership — like this is needed more than ever.

Right now, more than 607,000 people in our area are facing hunger, including 168,000 kids. That’s 1 in 7 people you pass in the grocery store, at work, or in your neighborhood. But we believe there’s nothing this community can’t overcome when we work together.

Leadership from North Carolina businesses, foundations, and community-based organizations is vital to reducing hunger in our community — especially in times of significant disruption and uncertainty. Your investment can be designated to the focus area of your choice and may entitle your organization to recognition opportunities, unique volunteer experiences, and other special benefits. If you’d like to learn more about partnership opportunities, we’d love to hear from you!Ā
