We all know the feeling of warmth, security, and belonging that comes from sharing a meal with friends and family. This year, we’re asking you to help provide hope for the holidays.

Across the Food Bank network, pantries, no-cost markets, meal sites, and delivery programs face a significant increase in the demand for food assistance. Many are seeing more people today than they did at the peak of the pandemic — just as the winter holidays approach. Your support helps ensure local families are able to enjoy a warm, safe, and happy holiday season with loved ones.

Visit foodbankcenc.org/hope to make a MATCHED donation — sharing hope with 2x as many people this holiday season.

Other ways you can help the Food Bank meet the increased need:

  1. INVOLVE FRIENDS
Want to mobilize your neighborhood, church group, or family? Holding a Virtual Food Drive is a great way to help. Thanks to the Food Bank’s scale and strong community partnerships, every dollar donated provides 10 meals this holiday season. Visit foodbankcenc.org/vfd to get started!
  2. DONATE TIME
If you live near one of our central distribution centers in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, Southern Pines, or Wilmington, it’s easier than ever to give a few hours of time at foodbankcenc.org/volunteer. An individual volunteer shift generates an average of 160 meals!
  3. DONATE FOOD
Network pantries and meal sites frequently need the same types of shelf-stable items any of us would pick up at the store — peanut butter, canned tuna fish and chicken, soup, pasta, canned fruits and veggies, etc. Check out our list of in-demand items for details.
