September is #HungerActionMonth — a nationwide initiative designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness to help people experiencing the impossible choices of hunger. All month, people across the country will be taking action against hunger to help families faced with impossible choices, like buying groceries or paying rent. You can too!

We’re on a mission to get 30 new monthly donors in 30 days.

This September, we’re asking those who are able to come together to provide the consistency and trust needed by the people we serve by becoming a monthly sustaining donor. In fact, this September, a Leadership Donor is matching your first month’s sustaining gift — up to $5,000!

For nearly 600,000 people in the Food Bank’s service area, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health and economic crisis, people are finding themselves in urgent need of hunger relief services. The food pantries and soup kitchens the Food Bank partners with, and the federal nutrition programs the Food Bank helps connect people with have all seen staggering increases in the number of people needing support.

As a monthly donor, you’ll know you are making a difference each and every day — ensuring that we can be more resilient together. Ending hunger takes all of us working together, and we’re grateful to everyone who believes in our #NoOneGoesHungry vision. We could never do this important work alone!

Already a monthly sustainer? Want even more ways to get involved this Hunger Action Month? These calendars provide 30 ways to take action to address hunger. Enjoy!

Students Against Hunger
Oct 14 – Dec 3 all-day

If your school community came together to raise meals for our food-insecure neighbors, how many people could you feed? Find out!

In the last year, the Food Bank distributed food to almost 500,000 children facing hunger in the 34 counties we serve, and unfortunately, the number of children in need is increasing. With COVID-19 closing schools and school systems struggling to make the adjustments required to serve children, we saw the devastating impact. No child should have to worry when he or she will eat again, and no parent should have to skip a meal, water down drinks or risk not paying a bill so they can put food on the table for their children. Since its inception, Students Against Hunger has provided hundreds of thousands of meals to families with the support of local schools.

Now your school can join the mission to nourish, build, and empower our community!
