THANK YOU!

Hunger is a serious problem every day in central and eastern North Carolina. In our 34-county service area nearly 600,000 people are at risk for hunger. Food insecurity levels rose by 11% because of COVID-19, however our pantries report they are still serving 35% more people than before the pandemic. Their heroic efforts, combined with donor generosity, have fed thousands of families, and kept food insecurity rates from skyrocketing.

This year the businesses and organizations that support us provided millions of meals through food and funds to nourish families in North Carolina. Each year it’s important to recognize the dedication and investment these companies are making in the community and in our Food Bank. Check out this year’s CORE Leadership Circle – our largest donors giving both funds and food to support our vision that no one goes hungry.

It’s clear that we could not do what we do without your support. Thank you to everyone who supports the work we’re doing together to end hungerThanks to you, we can be more resilient together. On behalf of all of us at the Food Bank and those we serve – thank you!

A MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE FROM FOOD BANK LEADERSHIP

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I would like to thank the members of our CORE Leadership Circle for their very generous and significant contributions to the mission of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, especially as we navigate through this period of unprecedented challenges and increased need. Without you, we could not have continued to service our Community, and find innovative ways to overcome the many obstacles created by a Global Pandemic. Your strong partnership, every step of the way, has allowed us to be nimbler and stronger when it was called of us to be. My most sincere thanks!
Octavio Soares
Chairman of the Board

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Seniors are higher risk for both COVID-19 and food insecurity. Across our 34-county service area, 1-in-3 seniors doesn’t always have enough good food to eat. Thanks to your support, our CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program) team is working hard to change that.
