Being a mom (of two teenagers, no less!) has been the most grounding and humbling experience of my life. Every day, I wonder if my kids are getting what they need — and if I am doing enough. I think often about the moms in our community who carry that same worry while also facing impossible choices — between food and rent, medicine and gas. No one should have to make those decisions.

This Mother’s Day, I hope you’ll join me, Addison, and Anderson to honor all the moms, grandmas, and caregivers who quietly shoulder so much.

– Amy Beros, President & CEO

From the moment of first becoming a mother, the role comes with many worries: Are they healthy? Are they happy? Are they eating enough?

Women in our community are at a higher risk of experiencing food insecurity and health consequences due to hunger. They are forced to make daily sacrifices because of the high cost of food, housing, and childcare — and the choices are never easy.

Often, parents are overwhelmed by the desire to make sure their children have enough food on the table every day.

Your support brings hope to mothers like Twanna, a Wake Forest mom who founded The Help Center NC — one our incredible local partners.

“Supporting pregnant women with healthy food options is a remarkable display of compassion, mirroring the unwavering devotion of motherhood. Thank you to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina for your support of The Help Center NC.”

– Twanna Joyner Jones, CEO

Thanks to your support, the mothers who turn to the Help Center for assistance can receive nourishing food and hope for the future.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the caregivers and maternal figures — mothers, grandmothers, aunts, etc. — who do whatever they can to make sure the kids in their lives have everything they need to thrive.

Your gift today can honor moms and help them feed their families. Every $10 you give can help provide enough food for 50 meals.
