This past week, Food Bank CENC surpassed the 1,000,000 pound milestone in our Hurricane Matthew relief efforts. Your donations made that possible.

Since our previous email we’ve also surpassed 100 truckloads, aided two additional counties, and packed 1,200 more disaster relief boxes for families just returning home from shelters. Your donations made that possible.

When we see local churches and NFL stars unloading food from our trucks and handing it directly to those who need it, we’re grateful. Because your donations made that possible.

1,000,000 is a big number. By no means did we get there alone. It is thanks to you that we are able to provide this much assistance to our neighbors in need.

As of November 1, volunteers have packed food donated by community food drives into 2,711 disaster relief boxes. We’ve loaded those onto 115 truckloads and sent them to 24 affected counties: Columbus, Craven, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Lenoir, Moore, Nash, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Pitt, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Vance, Wake, Wayne, and Wilson. In all, we’ve sent 1,119,044 pounds of food and supplies to those in need. And we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you to our incredibly supportive donors, partners, volunteers, and community members who have given so generously to help meet the great needs throughout our communities.

Sadly, we know the challenges facing our neighbors are not over. There continues to be a great need for cleaning supplies and hygiene items, such as theseThanks to your donations, the Food Bank will be with our neighbors for as long as necessary. If you would like to support (or continue supporting) our disaster efforts, here’s what you can do.

Thank you for making our work possible.
