Monthly Sustainer Program

The Food Bank is a consistent and trusted source of support and resources to central and eastern North Carolinians in need. In order to provide that consistency, and have people in need trust in us, we rely on our sustainer donors. As a monthly donor, you’ll know you are making a difference each and every day — ensuring that we can be more resilient together. 

We are a community food bank: here for the community, and able to open our doors every day thanks to the community. We’re so thankful for the trust our monthly donors place in us. Being a Food Bank Sustainer makes you an essential part of our work to serve more than 500,000 neighbors in need across our community. Sustainer Frequently Asked Questions

Do you make a regular, monthly contribution to the Food Bank? Then you’re a member – and we are so grateful for your support! Together with our other Sustainer Program members, your contributions provide food to people in need while building solutions to end hunger in our communities. 

Thank you! Every $1 increase in your monthly gift can provide 60 more meals over a year.

There are two options available. You can change your monthly payment amount through our Donor Service Center by logging in with the email information associated with your monthly gift. If you need login assistance, email sustainers@foodbankcenc.org. Or you can send an email to sustainers@foodbankcenc.org, and we will update your donor profile to reflect the new amount.

Your gift will be charged automatically on the same day each month. For example, if you set up your sustaining donation on the 14th of the month, your future donations will be charged each subsequent month on the 14th as well. You can change the date of your gift by contacting the Food Bank at sustainers@foodbankcenc.org.

There are several ways to update your account: 

  1. Update your information yourself online via our Donor Service Center. Once logged in, scroll down and click the ‘Manage Recurring Donations’ button. From there you can view your giving summary, manage contact information, and set up and edit recurring donations.
  2. Mail your request – be sure to include your full name and a contact number so we can follow up with you. Our address is:

  3. Email your request to sustainers@foodbankcenc.org. Let us know a good time and phone number to call you between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

No – when you donate to the Food Bank, we will not sell, trade or share your name, email address or any other personal information with any other organization. 

The Food Bank adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to handling of donor credit and debit card account information. For security purposes we do not store credit card information on our computers, so when you provide your new expiration date we must also re-enter the card information to complete the update. 

Your contribution to the Food Bank is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. You will receive an annual statement by January 31 each year, that lists all your donations from the previous calendar year.

Because you’re already giving each month, sustainers receive only limited solicitations from the Food Bank. You will hear from us when we have big news about a match or an exciting opportunity that we think you’d like to know about. 

If you’re receiving emailed or mailed donation requests more frequently than four times per year, it’s a mistake. Please contact us to help resolve the issue at sustainers@foodbankcenc.org. 

That’s wonderful, thank you! There are several ways to give: 

  1. Make a one-time donation online at any time.
  2. Make your gift over the phone by calling our Donor Services Team at (919) 875-0707, choose option 5. 
  3. Questions about donating stock, making an IRA transfer, or anything else related to a one-time gift? Email donorservices@foodbankcenc.org. 

You can stop or suspend your monthly giving at any time. Send an email to sustainers@foodbankcenc.org. Please be sure to let us know your name and address so we can confirm we are canceling the correct donation. We will respond to confirm that we have stopped your monthly contributions. 

We would be thrilled to show you how your sustaining gift is providing meals for our neighbors in need in Central and Eastern North Carolina. You can come by for a tour of the Food Bank or visit a food distribution site near you.
