Recovery Takes Longer

Life is going back to normal for some. Many students finished the school year with some in-person classes. You may be heading on that summer vacation that was postponed last year, or returning to your workplace.

At the Food Bank, we know recovery takes longer for the neighbors we serve. That’s why we are hoping to provide 5 million summer meals to children and their families during our #StopSummerHunger Match! Generous corporate and individual donors are doubling gifts through July 31, up to $132,000! Every $10 you give can double to provide 100 meals… feeding twice as many kids, teens, and families in need. Together, we will be working to ensure our 900+ partner agencies can meet the increased need they typically see in the summer on top of the surge they’ve seen due to the pandemic.

I’m proud to say, thanks to your support the Food Bank was able to distribute more than 100 million pounds of food in less than 9 months. That was our distribution goal for the entire year, but you stepped up, knowing our friends and neighbors were in dire need. I am confident you can help us do the same this summer.
